Riddleville is a peek inside a skyscraper forest of disassembled machine parts and plastic artifacts, a small world of literally figurative subjected objects. Decades under construction by abstractivist artist Clark Russell, Riddleville’s 40-odd towers feature still-life scenarios of armed dinosaurs, V8 frogs, astronaut chimpanzees, the earth being sucked through a straw. Made up of tens of thousands of pieces, the sanctuary city of Riddleville raises questions this book does not explain. It’s all pictures — 112 photographs out of 4,700 taken. See Riddleville as you may. Please do not feed the animals.
